Fuerteventura is a volcanic island in Spain with great food, good weather, and smiley people. Yes, Canary Islands are Spanish even though their location is more South than Morocco.
Fuerteventura, the second largest of Spain’s Canary Islands, sits in the Atlantic Ocean 100km off the north coast of Africa. It’s known primarily as a holiday destination due to its white-sand beaches and year-round warmth cooled by constant winds.
You can spend some time at the beach at the bottom of a volcano, with golden sand and beautiful water and walk all around the island to discover its surprising landscapes including a migratory bird feeding ground lagoon area.
Climb to the lighthouse to get a feel for the overall island or if you feel like a steeper hike, climb the volcano.
Barcelona, Spain
Barcelona, the cosmopolitan capital of Spain’s Catalonia region, is known for its art and architecture. The fantastical Sagrada Família church and other modernist landmarks designed by Antoni Gaudí dot the city. Barcelona is the fourth-most densely populated European Union city proper (15,991 people per km²).
With its sun-soaked beaches, Mediterranean hospitality, and unparalleled architecture, it's easy to fall for Barcelona.

Leiria, Portugal
Leiria is a city and a municipality in the Centro Region of Portugal. It is the capital of Leiria District. The population in 2011 was 126,879, in an area of 565.09 square kilometres. It is the seat of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Leiria-Fátima.
Leiria is an agreeable mixture of medieval and modern, a lively university town.
Leiria was first inhabited by the indigenous Turduli people and later by the Romans. In 1135, the city was captured by Afonso Henriques, the first king of Portugal. King Afonso built Leiria Castle, now the symbol of the town. Later, in the 15th century, King João I transformed the castle into a residence for the royal palace.
In the center of the city, you will find numerous shops and artisans selling Leiria’s unique glass items. The glasswork has been a staple of the town for centuries. Shops featuring other local crafts, restaurants and the town’s nightlife center around the Candido dos Reis Square. Be sure to sample the local favorite bolo de pinhão, a cake made with pine nuts.
The town is truly beautiful. Since old times visitors have come to this place to see a beautiful castle (castello). There is also a large and modern stadium in the town. It can sit 25,000 people, so the stadium hosts football matches and competitions in track and field athletics.
